About Ramona: Ramona - female,Tiger/Tabby with white feet, approx 1 year old. FeLV/FIV neg., vaccinated and spayed. Friendly, purring, "butt riser". Likes other cats. She has been staying with a foster mom, her husband, and two other cats. We bring her to adoption day every sat. Her foster family went on vacation, so she is staying with me for the time being. |
Ramona has been adopted and we are praying she is doing well with her new family. Good luck little girl! DAY FOUR: Ramona is a playful girl. She plays with the toys to some extent and she rolls over on the floor and rubs against things. I got some good video and pictures of her doing this. When I was leaving her tonight, she followed me to the door and one of my male cats, 'Hunter,' was standing in the hall way. She wanted to run over to him. I held her back and let them have a stare down while I petted her. There was no hissing or growling on either end. Tomorrow, with the help of my husband, I will let them be together in the same room supervised. This is important to have two people so each cat has someone to make sure they behave. DAY THREE: Ramona is such a sweet girl! She loves to look out the window. I am able to walk up to her and pet her and she comes to me. She is eating fine and loves her canned. This is given to her as a special treat every other day. She follows me to the door when I leave and I feel bad she has to stay up there by herself. But I know from experience that even though a cat may seem ready for the whole house, they may get spoked by something and find somewhere to hide, and it can be difficult to get them to come out. DAY TWO: Ramona was hiding in the morning when I went to work. When I got up, she was in the open window. She ran under the edge of the bed and watched me while I gave her new food and changed her litter. When I was done, I got down on the ground. I slowly crawled to her, talking softly, and wiggling my fingers and she came out and came right up to me! She wanted to be petted! (Results not typical!) I got up and she followed me around as I petted her. She must have smelt other smells, because she did growl and hiss some, but had no aggression towards me. She just turned around and wanted to be petted. DAY ONE: Today, Ramona hid between the bed and the wall when I came in. I pet her for a few minutes and when she started to back away further under the bed, I let her be. I stayed in the room, doing work, and letting her know that I was in there by talking to her. She has been eating and using the litter. This is normal as it takes a few days to weeks for a cat to get used to it's new surroundings and it's new family. BRINGING HER HOME: I picked up Ramona and when I got her home, I put her in an upstairs bedroom by herself. I set her up with a litter pan, food and water some toys. I put her carrier on the bed and opened the carrier door. She stayed in the carrier and watched me as I did set these items up and didn't come out. I petted her a few times, but then I left her be for the night.
